Willow Grove, PA – Asplundh has deployed more than 3,600 vegetation management and utility line personnel from across the country to assist in storm restoration efforts following Hurricane Milton, which made landfall in Florida as a Category 3 storm, knocking out power to more than 3 million households in the state. More than 1,000 One Asplundh crew members remain in Georgia and the Carolinas in response to Hurricane Helene, which struck the southeastern United States only two weeks earlier.
The company’s One Asplundh unified storm response team started to prepare nearly a week before Milton landed, balancing the resources needed to mitigate the coming storm with those required by the company’s ongoing operations to restore communities impacted by Helene. In response, crews from as far away as Washington and Oregon, Texas, the Midwest and New England were dispatched to Florida.
“Hurricane Milton presented us with the unique challenge of back-to-back, intense and devastating storms,” said CEO Matt Asplundh. “Because of One Asplundh’s considerable resources, we were able to meet the needs of our utility partners to prepare for Milton’s landfall and begin restoration efforts as soon as it was safe to do so.
